Türkiye nevertheless receives no reported airframe manufacturing workshare or domestic final assembly under the current package, distinguishing operational and sustainment sovereignty from industrial co-production and preventing the programme from becoming a Turkish manufacturing partnership comparable with KAAN.

Major British and European industrial participants remain responsible for the aircraft ecosystem, including BAE Systems, Leonardo UK, MBDA, Rolls-Royce and Martin-Baker, while Eurofighter partner companies across Germany, Spain and Italy retain their established production responsibilities.

For Britain, the relationship moves Türkiye from being merely an export customer toward a potentially deeper defence-industrial partner, although discussions involving future unmanned systems and other technologies remain aspirational and should not be confused with contracted technology-transfer programmes.

The arrangement therefore contains clear limits: Türkiye gains training, mission-data control, maintenance capacity and potential national-weapons integration, but receives neither domestic final assembly nor a reported Turkish airframe workshare under the present new-build production agreement.

Strategically, Ankara is buying time and operational flexibility while KAAN matures; Britain is preserving combat-air industrial capacity before GCAP; and Eurofighter governments are strengthening NATO fighter mass amid uncertainty surrounding Europe’s future security burden.
