[VIDEO] Iran Strikes US Military Bases Across Gulf: Missile Barrage on Qatar, Bahrain, UAE Signals Dangerous Power Shift in Middle East

Coordinated Iranian missile attacks on Al Udeid, 5th Fleet HQ and Al Dhafra raise urgent questions over US force vulnerability and the future balance of power in the Gulf.

(DEFENCE SECURITY ASIA) — In a significant escalation of regional hostilities, Iran has launched a coordinated series of missile strikes against multiple United States military installations across the Gulf states and Israel, marking one of the most direct confrontations between Tehran and Washington in recent years.

According to regional and international reports, the strikes—described by Iranian officials as a “decisive response” to perceived hostile actions—have impacted bases in Israel, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The attacks unfolded amid widespread activation of air raid sirens, reports of explosions and unverified claims of direct hits, developments that collectively signal a potential inflection point in the intensifying geopolitical confrontation involving Iran, the United States and Israel.

Initial indications emerged from Bahrain, where authorities reported that the headquarters of the US Navy’s 5th Fleet had been targeted in a missile strike.

The naval installation, widely regarded as a cornerstone of US maritime power projection and operational command in the Gulf, was allegedly struck directly.

Imagery circulating on regional channels purportedly shows a National Security Agency-linked facility in Bahrain sustaining a missile impact, reinforcing assessments of the scale and precision of the operation, although independent verification remains limited.

At the same time, an Al Jazeera correspondent in Kuwait reported hearing multiple explosions accompanied by the activation of warning sirens across parts of the country.

The audible detonations and emergency alerts indicated a heightened security posture, with local authorities and residents preparing for potential incoming threats.

Subsequent reports confirmed that Kuwait’s Al Salem Base was among the installations targeted during the assault, aligning with earlier accounts of explosions and defensive responses.

Taken together, the strikes appear to form part of a broader, coordinated Iranian campaign directed at US military infrastructure throughout the Gulf region.

Sources familiar with the developments described concentrated targeting of facilities in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and the UAE.

Among the confirmed targets was Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a critical hub for US Air Force operations in the Middle East, which was reportedly struck by Iranian missiles.

Qatari air defenses are said to have intercepted at least one incoming missile, indicating that active countermeasures were deployed to mitigate the impact of the attack.

Al Salem Base in Kuwait was also confirmed as a target, consistent with the reported explosions and siren activations across the country.

In the United Arab Emirates, Al Dhafra Air Base—another key installation hosting US military assets—was reportedly struck as part of the same wave of attacks.

In Bahrain, the US 5th Fleet headquarters was described as having sustained direct impacts, with unverified accounts suggesting as many as eight confirmed strikes on US-linked facilities within the kingdom.

Beyond the immediate Gulf theatre, reports of explosions over Amman, Jordan, suggested potential spillover effects or related aerial activity, though official confirmation and details remained limited.

Iranian authorities have publicly framed the missile campaign as a calibrated act of retaliation rather than an unprovoked escalation.

In a statement, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council declared: “The enemy believes that the steadfast Iranian nation will surrender to its petty demands through cowardly measures. The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have begun a decisive response to these hostile actions and will keep the dear people continuously informed.”

The language employed in the statement casts the strikes as defensive countermeasures in response to what Tehran characterizes as sustained aggression by its adversaries.

Further reinforcing this posture, the spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran warned: “Any base that assists the US and Israel will be targeted by Iran’s Armed Forces.”

Such remarks suggest that the current wave of attacks may be part of a broader deterrence strategy aimed at dissuading regional states from facilitating US and Israeli military operations.

While several of the strikes have been corroborated by multiple sources, critical details—such as the precise number of impacts in Bahrain and the extent of structural damage—remain unverified.

The involvement, whether direct or indirect, of multiple countries—including Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain and possibly Jordan—underscores the expansive regional implications of the confrontation.

Although missile interceptions over Qatar and the activation of air defense systems demonstrate a degree of operational readiness among Gulf states, the reported success of several Iranian missiles in reaching their intended targets raises questions about the resilience and vulnerability of US assets in the region.

Collectively, the events highlight the fragility of Middle Eastern stability, where longstanding tensions between Iran and the US-Israel alignment continue to generate cycles of escalation with potentially far-reaching consequences.

As the situation evolves, Iranian officials have indicated that further updates will be provided to the domestic population, even as the full scope of the damage, possible casualties and international diplomatic responses remains uncertain.

Earlier, Israel launched what it terms a “preemptive” strike on Iran, igniting fears of a large-scale regional war.

Eyewitnesses in Tehran described the thunderous sound of multiple explosions echoing across the capital, with dense plumes of smoke rising from key districts like University Street and Jomhouri Avenue.

This surprise assault coincides with Israel’s declaration of a national emergency, which includes closing its airspace and mobilising the population for possible retaliation.

According to initial assessments, the strikes were aimed at high-value targets, including potential assassinations of senior political and intelligence figures, although confirmation remains pending.

The Israeli attack—officially acknowledged by Defence Minister Yisrael Katz—marks a fundamental shift in Middle Eastern dynamics, tipping an already fragile region closer to all-out conflict.

The United States is reportedly involved in the strike operation, adding a powerful international layer to what could rapidly evolve into a broader military confrontation.

Air raid sirens wailed across Israel at 08:15 local time, with citizens ordered into shelters and emergency protocols rolled out nationwide to prepare for Iranian reprisal.

This strike follows months of failed diplomacy, rising nuclear tensions, and escalatory tit-for-tat strikes between Iran, Israel, and U.S. assets throughout the region. — DEFENCE SECURITY ASIA
