Türkiye’s GOZDE Precision Guidance Kit Unleashes Unrivaled Accuracy, Devastates High-Speed Target
The test, conducted on February 27, involved the GOZDE Precision Guidance Kit, which is regarded as a competitor to the United States’ Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) and France’s AASM Hammer.
(DEFENCE SECURITY ASIA) – In a groundbreaking achievement for Türkiye’s defense industry, two leading defense giants, TÜBİTAK Defense Industries Research and Development Institute (SAGE) and ASELSAN, have successfully tested the GOZDE Precision Guidance Kit—unleashing its power as it locked onto and struck a moving target with pinpoint accuracy after being deployed from an F-16 fighter jet.
In a bold display of Türkiye’s advancing defense capabilities, the February 27 test showcased the GOZDE Precision Guidance Kit—an emerging powerhouse poised to challenge the dominance of the United States’ Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) and France’s AASM Hammer.
According to an official statement from ASELSAN, “The GOZDE Precision Guidance Kit, jointly developed by ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE, successfully tracked and neutralized a moving target through its integrated INS/GNSS/Laser Seeker guidance system after being designated by an electro-optical system onboard an F-16 fighter jet.”
The statement further highlighted that GOZDE, as an innovative technology, enhances the capabilities of aerial platforms by enabling precision strikes against both stationary and moving targets.
Engineered without a propulsion system, the GOZDE Precision Guidance Kit transforms the formidable MK-82 500-lb bomb family into a lethal force, delivering devastating accuracy against both stationary and moving targets.
With cutting-edge guidance and navigation technology, it maximizes strike efficiency while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Capable of neutralizing threats across diverse operational scenarios, GOZDE stands as a game-changer in modern warfare.
Seamlessly integrated into both manned and unmanned platforms—including the battle-proven F-16 and the cutting-edge Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV—it grants Türkiye a formidable strategic advantage, reinforcing its dominance in aerial precision strikes.
“With the successful demonstration of the GOZDE Precision Guidance Kit’s ability to strike high-speed moving targets with pinpoint accuracy, we proudly showcase ASELSAN’s distinctive expertise in precision-strike technologies,” the statement added.
“This capability, possessed by only a few countries, provides a significant strategic advantage and strengthens our international competitiveness.”
“Aligned with our 2030 vision of becoming one of the world’s top 30 defense companies, this achievement reaffirms our commitment to delivering cutting-edge, indigenous solutions that meet the evolving demands of modern warfare,” said ASELSAN President and CEO Ahmet Akyol in a statement.
ASELSAN also announced that GOZDE has an operational range of 28 km when released from a maximum altitude of 12 km (40,000 feet MSL).

The system offers strike accuracy within 3 meters of the target point, regardless of weather conditions.
The aircraft can also deploy GOZDE in fire-and-forget mode, relying on the bomb’s GNSS and inertial guidance systems.
Türkiye’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacir, also shared the development on social media, emphasizing the country’s commitment to strengthening national security through advanced defense projects.
“The test launch of the GOZDE Precision Guidance Kit from an F-16 successfully struck a high-speed target, making it the fastest and most precise guidance kit developed in Türkiye to date,” Kacir stated.
The test delivered a stunning display of precision-strike mastery, as GOZDE’s integrated sensor guidance system locked onto a high-speed vehicle target marked by an electro-optical laser designator—neutralizing it with pinpoint accuracy and relentless efficiency.
Key Features of the GOZDE System:
