Malaysia, Indonesia Special Forces conclude “HARIMAU SATYA Exercise”
HARIMAU SATYA is an annual bilateral exercise between the Malaysian Army’s Grup Gerak Khas (GGK) and Komando Pasukan Khusus Tentera Nasional Indonesia- Angkatan Darat (KOPASSUS TNI-AD).
(DEFENCE SECURITY ASIA) — Members of Malaysian and Indonesian army special force, 21 Grup Gerak Khas (21 GGK) and Komando Pasukan Khusus Tentera Nasional Indonesia- Angkatan Darat (KOPASUS TNI-AD) have conducted their annual bilateral exercise called “Exercise HARIMAU SATYA.”
According to a post on the Malaysian Army’s Facebook page, the exercise took place at PUSDIKLATPASSUS, Batujajar, Bandung.
The exercise lasted for 10 days, from September 12 to September 21, 2023.
The Harimau Satya exercise was structured as a Cross Training Exercise (CTX) and Field Training Exercise (FTX) for Special Forces Sniper Operations.
HARIMAU SATYA is an annual bilateral exercise between the Malaysian Army’s Grup Gerak Khas and KOPASSUS TNI-AD.
The Malaysian 21 GGK was represented by three officers and 20 Other Ranks (ORs), led by the Special Sniper Squadron Commander, Lt. Col. Muhamad Nor Ishak.
The exercise included activities such as Multiple Position Shooting Exercises, Sniper Weapon Accuracy Training, Multi-target Sniper Training, Special Sniper Operation Movement Training, Ops Raid Drill, Team Rapid Assault Training, and Parachute Jump Training.
This exercise allowed participants to share knowledge and experiences to enhance leadership skills and the planning and execution of Special Sniper Operation Movement among officers and other ranks, while strengthening military professional relationships between Malaysia and Indonesia.
The closing ceremony of Exercise Harimau Satya Series 10/23 was officiated by the commander of 21 GGK, Major General Adi Ridzwan Abdullah, and attended by the commander of KOPASSUS, Major General TNI Deddy Suryadi S. IP.
Last year, commandos from both countries also participated in Exercise HARIMAU SATYA 9/22 in Teluk Murai, Kem Seri Iskandar, Mersing.
The exercise, which focused on Sniper Operation Movement tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), lasted for 10 days, from September 14 to September 22, 2022. — DSA
