ASELSAN and Qatar’s Barzan Holdings Expand BARQ Joint Venture at DIMDEX 2026, Deepening Türkiye–Qatar Defence Industry Ties
Expansion of BARQ joint venture at DIMDEX 2026 marks a major step in high-technology defence cooperation, local production, and strategic industrial partnership between Türkiye and Qatar.
(DEFENCE SECURITY ASIA) — ASELSAN and Barzan Holdings have announced the expansion of their joint venture, BARQ, through multiple agreements unveiled at the DIMDEX 2026 exhibition in Doha, signalling a new phase in strategic bilateral defence cooperation between Türkiye and Qatar.
Türkiye’s leading defence company, ASELSAN, signed the agreements with Qatar-based Barzan Holdings on the sidelines of DIMDEX 2026, reinforcing a long-term strategic partnership while accelerating joint technology development and industrial collaboration across the region.
The agreements were formally signed by ASELSAN Vice President Mr. Özgür Taylan Sarı and Barzan Group Chief Executive Officer His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Badr Al-Sadah, with the ceremony witnessed by Türkiye’s Secretary of Defence Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün and Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Chairman of Barzan Holdings, His Excellency Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani.
Under the expanded framework, the BARQ joint venture will encompass high-technology domains and selected local production capabilities, while advancing technology transfer, industrial know-how, and the development of local expertise between Türkiye and Qatar.
