(DEFENCE SECURITY ASIA) – Russian forces have launched five “Iskander” tactical missile strikes targeting the armored vehicle repair facility in Mykolaiv, a critical asset for the Ukrainian military.
The launch of the five “Iskander-M” missiles was captured by Russian military drones and widely disseminated on social media platforms.
This missile strike on a vital Ukrainian military facility underscores the vulnerability of key infrastructure to Russian tactical missiles, revealing the absence of adequate air defense systems to intercept such attacks.
Analysts report that the “Iskander-M” missiles destroyed at least five sections of the repair facility, damaging six tanks and four armored vehicles that were undergoing maintenance.
There are also claims that the Russian missiles struck a hotel near the Mykolaiv facility, which housed Ukrainian military personnel.
Located in southern Ukraine, the Mykolaiv armored vehicle repair facility plays a pivotal role in Ukraine’s military campaign by ensuring the operational readiness of its armored vehicles.
It has long supported the development and maintenance of tanks and other combat vehicles for the Ukrainian military.
Since the onset of the Russian invasion, the Mykolaiv repair center has been essential to Ukraine’s war efforts, providing much-needed repair and maintenance services.
The facility has expanded its operations to meet the increased demand, focusing on both repairing combat-damaged vehicles and producing new ones for frontline use.
The destruction of the Mykolaiv repair facility represents a significant loss for the Ukrainian military, given its critical role in sustaining operations during the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Meanwhile, the “Iskander-M” tactical missile system poses a formidable threat to Ukrainian forces. Widely used in the conflict, these missiles can accurately strike targets from a range of 50 to 500 kilometers.
The “Iskander-M” can be equipped with various warheads, including conventional, nuclear, and chemical options. Its advanced guidance system, combining inertial navigation with satellite corrections, ensures a high degree of accuracy, with a margin of error of just 1 to 2 kilometers.
This precision makes the “Iskander-M” missile a weapon of choice for Russian forces, frequently employed to target critical infrastructure such as command and control centers, radar facilities, supply depots, and other key military installations.
