Singapore’s first shipborne adoption also gives its navy early experience in tactics, testing and fleet integration, while Estonia’s land-based coastal version provides a separate operational pathway rather than direct validation of maritime performance.

Ultimately, Blue Spear changes the battlespace only when reliable surveillance, secure command links, adequate magazines and ready ships converge; failure in any layer would contract the nominal engagement zone and weaken deterrent credibility.

RSS Steadfast therefore marks an inflection point, not a completed transformation: Singapore has visibly extended its maritime striking arm, but programme completion, MRCV weapon confirmation and combat resilience remain essential unanswered tests.
