Russian Soldier Receives Financial Rewards for Destroying Ukrainian HIMARS

(DEFENCE SECURITY ASIA) — Approximately 10,000 members of the Russian military have received cash rewards for their success in destroying Ukrainian military equipment, such as the American-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, fighter jets, and helicopters.

Russian military members who successfully destroyed Leopard armored vehicles and Western-made armored vehicles in battles in the Zaphorizia region in southern Ukraine also received special cash payments for their achievements.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the highest reward received by Russian military members is 300,000 Rubles (approximately RM16,000) for successfully destroying the HIMARS rocket system and the tactical missile system, TOCHKA-U, owned by the Ukrainian military.

“Due to their success in destroying 15 TOCHKA-U and HIMARS launcher systems, Russian military members received a payment of 300,000 Rubles each,” according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In addition, a payment of 300,000 Rubles was also made to Russian military members who successfully shot down 45 helicopters and 71 fighter jets belonging to the Ukrainian military during the conflict.

 

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a total of 10,000 Russian military members have received special cash payments for their success in destroying enemy military equipment.

Last year, 7,064 Russian military members received special payments for destroying 11,586 pieces of Ukrainian military equipment.

As of May 31st this year, Russia has paid 50,000 Rubles (approximately RM2,700) or 100,000 Rubles (approximately RM5,500) to each Russian military member for destroying 4,415 pieces of Ukrainian military equipment.

“In 2023, 10,000 Rubles were received by military members who served in land units, paratroopers, marines, and artillery units that successfully destroyed hundreds of Ukrainian military armored vehicles.”

“A payment of 50,000 Rubles was also made to Ukrainian military members for their success in destroying 1,501 Ukrainian military vehicles, mobile artillery systems, and 85 dual-launch rocket systems,” said the Russian Ministry of Defense.

 

For operators of Russian air defense systems, success in intercepting and destroying 941 guided missiles and rockets launched by the Ukrainian military from TOCHKA, Alder, Smerch, Uragan, and HIMARS systems, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, also earned them a cash reward of 50,000 Rubles.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also paid 200,000 Rubles (approximately RM11,000) to Russian military members who successfully destroyed six unmanned Ukrainian boats that attacked Russian ships in Crimea recently. – DSA
