The highly anticipated maiden flight of Turkey’s fifth-generation fighter aircraft, “KAAN,” scheduled for last night (December 27), did not materialize as planned, disappointing the citizens of the Mediterranean nation and global observers.
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has initiated the assembly activities for the second and third prototypes of the fifth-generation Turkish aircraft “KAAN,” expected to make its maiden flight on December 27.
The Turkish-made fifth-generation fighter jet, named “KAAN,” is set to conduct its maiden flight at the end of this year, according to Prof. Temel Kotil, the CEO of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).
Any party that aspires to acquire Turkey’s fifth-generation fighter aircraft known as “KAAN” need to “think twice” before contemplating buying it, because the price of one unit of the fifth-generation fighter aircraft is expected to exceed US$100 million (RM450 million).
