Malaysia’s efforts to acquire more than 30 second-hand F/A-18C/D Hornet fighter jets from the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) are now in the final stages, pending approval from the United States (US), the original manufacturer of the aircraft.

The governments of Malaysia and Kuwait have agreed to establish a committee to begin negotiations on the acquisition of F/A-18C/D fighter jets from the Kuwait Air Force.
Malaysia is still awaiting a decision from the Kuwaiti government regarding its interest in acquiring F/A-18C/D Hornet fighter jets from the Middle Eastern country’s air force.
